Joanne holds a PhD in Computer Science and has spent her career climbing from programmer to Director of Engineering, but she'll be the first to tell you the degree didn't make the climb any smoother. A full-stack engineer, AWS Community Builder, and organizer of both the Orlando AWS User Group and Orlando Lady Devs, she has built her career at companies ranging from Lockheed Martin and Disney to Capital One and Rad AI. The absence of mentorship in her early years lit a fire in her, and she has spent the years since creating the community she never had. She brings both the technical receipts and the real talk.
